Housing Application Information
With the consolidation of the WVU Tech Housing with the new housing system at WVU, we will be changing our paper contracts and timetable for all applications. All high school seniors must be admitted to WVU TECH before you can apply for housing. All students (current and new) will apply for Housing and pay the $100 deposit on-line through their MIX account. After current students have had a chance to reserve rooms for the fall semester, new students will have the opportunity.

Housing application process.

  1. Complete your Admissions Application to WVU Tech. Once admitted you will receive your MIX account information.
  2. Apply for Housing and pay your $100 Deposit through the STAR tab on your MIX account.
  3. After applying for Housing you will receive an email detailing how and when you will be able to choose your room through the STAR system.

GENERAL HOUSING TIMETABLE

  1. Accept Housing contracts after you are admitted to WVU Tech year round.
  2. February - current resident students fill out contracts and pay deposits for the next fall.
  3. April – Students use STAR system to choose fall rooms (Sr, Jr, Soph, Fresh, new)
  4. June - Room assignment letters are mailed out.
  5. August 1 - Last day to cancel fall housing (in writing) and get refund of deposit.
  6. August (early) - Residence Halls open for Tech Football pre-season camp.
  7. August (middle) - Residence halls open. Freshmen move in Thursday at 1 – 4 pm. Returning students Friday after 1 pm.
  8. August – begin accepting Spring applications
  9. November 20 - last day to cancel spring housing
  10. December 1 - Spring bills are sent
  11. December (middle) - Spring semester assignments for new students and letters sent.
  12. Early January – Residence Halls open for spring semester
  13. January 30 - Housing deposit credited to Spring charges.
