Assistant Professor

POSITION: Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, a full-time, tenure-track, nine- (9-) month, benefits eligible position within the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences (CES).

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a PhD in chemical engineering or closely related field.  The applicant must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and be responsive to student needs.  The applicant must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in biochemistry, energy conversion, particle technology or related field is desirable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in chemical engineering, advise students, implement program assessment tools, and engage in professional and institutional activities.

 

WVU TECH: “WVU Tech,” a division of West Virginia University, is a four-year, public, residential, co-educational institution located in Montgomery, West Virginia, 28 miles southeast of Charleston, the capital of West Virginia. The position is in the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences. The College offers four-year (BS) programs in engineering : Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, programs in the sciences (BS): Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and four-year (BS) technology programs: Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Industrial Technology.

 

SALARY : Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
