WVU Institute of Technology, a regional campus of West Virginia University, is a four-year institution that offers a variety of baccalaureate degree programs in high-demand fields such as Engineering, Nursing, Printing Management, Business Management, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Health Services Administration and many more. WVU Tech also offers a masters degree program in Control Systems Engineering. Nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountains, WVU Tech is located in Montgomery, WV, and offers academic centers in Beckley, Charleston, Huntington, and Oak Hill.

 

Rich is history and heritage, the WVU Tech campus has been recognized for over 100 years of dedication to higher education with academic excellence through nationally recognized programs of study. According to the U.S.News & World Reports 2007 America’s Best Colleges edition, WVU Tech was named among the top 100 Best Comprehensive Colleges in the South for Bachelor’s degrees as well as among one the top 100 undergraduate engineering programs. These listings include both public and private institutions of higher learning.

 

The Community & Technical College at WVU Institute of Technology (CTC @ WVU Tech) was established as a part of WVU Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) in 1966. In 2004, the CTC @ WVU Tech was accredited as an independent institution by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The CTC @ WVU Tech offers a variety of two-year degree programs in high-demand technical fields such as engineering technology, printing technology, dental hygiene, computer technology, business and office technology, and allied health. New programs are now being implemented in computer security, diesel technology, and mining specialist options.

 

The CTC @ WVU Tech is also recognized as a national high performer in the area of student-faculty interaction as compared with colleges of similar size across the nation by the 2005 Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE). This recognition validates that the CTC at WVU Tech faculty members are a group of dedicated professionals who are committed to student success.  In addition to the high rating in student-faculty interaction, the college also scored well above the national average for active and collaborative learning.
