You must be an independent worker. Distance learning courses usually have fewer class meetings. Students in these courses have fewer opportunities to meet with the instructor face-to-face. As a student in a distance learning course, you must work more independently than you may be used to. You must set your own schedule, keep up with the assigned work, and take the initiative to ask for help when you need it. Take this self-assessment to learn if distance learning is right for you.

For WebCT classes, you must have access to a computer and you should be comfortable using computers. WebCT classes are web-based. Most of the information and communication for these classes is transmitted over the internet. You must have access to the internet through a computer. See the technology requirements for more information.
